Basic Fly Tying Materials for the Woolly Bugger

The Wooly Bugger will be the first fly I'll walk you through so I want you to make sure to grab the materials so you are ready to go.

If you need me to send you these materials you can sign up for the Platinum Fly Tying Mentor and you will not only get these materials, but complete materials to tie 19 other fly patterns. Enough to keep you going for 6 months.

But, in case you just need the wooly bugger materials you can click the links below.

Materials for the Wooly Bugger

(These materials will be delivered to you in the mail shortly as part of your Fly Tying Mentor package. But, if you need additional materials you can purchase those through these links.)

Black Marabou: The tail is usually the first thing that is tied in on a fly. Click this link to get black marabou.

You then will tie in the hackle after palmering it. You can purchase the material here: Black Saddle Hackle

Black Chenille is the body material used for the bugger.  Click here to get a roll of chenille.

Hooks - I will be using a Dai-ichi for the demo but the Mustad R74 size 8 is a very similar hook.  You can grab a box of hooks here if you need extras.

Thread - 70 Denier Ultra thread is my normal goto. You can pick up a spool of it here: Ultra Thread.
